Chasing Dirt offers a variety of resources designed to help you learn the mechanics of putting a deal together, how to think about opportunities like a successful investor, and give you the opportunity to learn from the collective knowledge of experienced investors.

Chasing Dirt College Courses

We currently offer two college courses in real estate finance and investment. Our courses are each six weeks long and delivered online through a network of colleges and universities across the country. Each course is taught by Josh Fuhrer, a real estate developer with over 10 years experience in the industry.

Real Estate Investing

If you want to get started or improve your skills as an investor, this course will show you how to find a profitable deal and put it together. We'll explore the technical aspects of investing including how to do rehabs, invest in rentals and lease options, profit from foreclosures, and what to look for in buying condos. We'll also cover tax strategies, marketing your properties, and what to do when the market shifts. You'll learn how to find valuable sources of information in your local area, and you'll leave the course with a written investing plan and lots of industry contacts.

Real Estate Investing II: Financing Your Property

Sound financial analysis is essential to your success as an investor, but most people are intimidated by spreadsheets and complex financial calculations. Don't let this hold you back! In this course, we'll take all the guesswork and frustration out of deal analysis by breaking down real estate math into easy-to-understand concepts. You'll get custom-designed Microsoft Excel templates that make calculating payments, profits and investment returns as easy as 1-2-3. And you'll understand how to use the same financial tools professional investors use everyday.

The Chasing Dirt Community Forum

The Chasing Dirt Community Forum is a social networking platform similar to Facebook that allows investors and other real estate professionals to interact and learn from one another. You can create an account, add photos of yourself and your projects, update your live activity stream, share news stories and other web resources, interact with other investors, build your team of professionals, start a group based on a specific interest or location, add friends to your network, contribute to a discussion, and much more. The Chasing Dirt Interview Series
